Soo... ich habe mich mal rangesetzt und bin angefangen einen Icon-Pool zu basteln :)

Das ist wohl noch nicht das entgültige Design, ist ja auch noch nicht fertig.
Wenn einer nicht möchte das seine Icons dort veröffentlicht werden, dann bitte eine PN an mich.
Aber ich fände einen Pool von Freeware Tools, Icons, u. Geo Pics nicht schlecht.
Erspart ne menge Zeit und Sucherei.

Das soll kein Pool für Cracks oder ilegale Iso's werden.

Sorry to all who were waiting for a release from me over the weekend. I stumbled upon some problems and spent two complete days trying to fix it (my wife is mad at me now ). I added around 120 POI categories. But seems like it is too much for the Navi to handle. Interestingly it displays only upto 70 categories. The moment I add 71, everything is empty. There doesn't seem to be any problem in the ASC files. If any of the experts here have a clue, please let me know.

Now I have to scale down the categories to the most important 70 and make a release over the week. Thanks for your patience and wishing all of you a good week ahead.

Hello Nirmal, good to hear you are still busy. Wow, 120 POI categories!? Even 70 would be quite a lot. I only need about 20 (besides the built-in ones). Maybe you should start a vote about the categories most people want to have added and use the top-70? In the meantime you could just release your POI icons. I'm really looking forward to see them on my display.

About the problem itself... I have no idea, sorry. Maybe a feature of the RNS or a bug in poiinspect0r?

I am a bit irritated now that I put in so much effort and I can't get it to work with all the POIs . I still don't want to give up and will try again today to make all POIs work. Between that, I will also make a packet with only 70 categories.

Here's a overview of all the POI categories. (POIInspect0r doesn't display full size icons in the tree. Thats the reason the icons doesn't look good there. It looks much better on the Navi)

Would be nice if you could wait for a few more days (till Wednesday, this is my next target). Then I will release all the icons and the shadow icon files together.

Possible reasons I could think of:

1. RNS 510 has a limit on the total number of POI categories

2. When there are more POI categories it takes more time to read and construct the menu and RNS510 is timing out

3. The line for Alphabetical ordering of categories in GER.LSC is getting too long

Würde es nicht gehen, wenn man z.B. gewisse POIs zusammenführt? Oder klappt das nicht? Man könnte zum Beispiel Aldi Nord und Süd unter "Aldi" zusammen fassen.

Banken würde ich persönlich komplett rausstreichen, außer Sparkasse, CashPool und CashGroup. Denn wer z.B. bei der Postbank ist, kann sich an allen CashGroup zugehörigen Banken Bargeld besorgen.

Bei Aldi gibt es das Problem der Nord/Süd "Grenzgebiete". Da Aldi-Nord und Aldi-Süd normalerweise verschiedene Angebote haben, möchte man evtl. unterscheiden können, ob man nun Aldi-Nord oder Aldi-Süd anfährt. In der POI-Detailbeschreibung könnte man das zwar vermerken, aber man würde es eben nicht auf der Karte sehen.
Bei den Banken stimme ich uneingeschränkt zu.

Aber der Poll macht ja Fortschritte. Vielleicht beteiligen sich ja noch einige User daran...

aber beide Aldi Ketten haben doch verschiedene Symbole, oder? Anhand dieser kann doch Aldi Nord oder Süd unterschieden werden ?
