Events Manager

Office Team | San Francisco, CA

Dropbox is the home for your most important stuff—now we're bringing it to life with a growing family of products. As we scale our global brand, there’s plenty of space for you to grow alongside us and simplify life for millions of people around the world.

Events at Dropbox come in many flavors, but we carry the same three goals for all of them: celebrating our values, connecting people, and providing experiences as high quality as our product. We're looking for an events manager who shares these goals.

Our events range in size from meetings for ten, to parties for two thousand - each with its own unique list of needs. You'll partner with the events team and Dropboxers worldwide to manage, produce, and execute the many moving parts that compose an amazing event experience.

But you won't be doing this alone - our events team works within Black Ops, an unrestricted, self-guided team where ideas float and come to life by marrying internal communication, design, and social engineering. You'll get access to these resources to deliver the perfect event, and receive opportunities to explore ideas that wouldn't otherwise be possible.

Why's this a big deal? At Dropbox, we're convinced that we can make the best ever realizations of anything - and if we can do that while bringing Dropboxers together and inspiring them, it's not a bad deal.

  • Bring creative and thoughtful attention to experience — design, theme, layout, and decor — while staying true to what feels Dropboxy
  • Manage budgets and negotiate contracts while championing for Dropbox
  • Oversee events day-of to make sure everything runs smoothly and to troubleshoot any issues that may arise
  • Capture feedback and determine how to improve future events
  • Gain a deep understanding of Dropbox's culture to create new, custom-tailored experiences for our employees worldwide

Requirements

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in events management is required
  • Direct experience managing a team is required
  • Deep expertise in the components (technical, negotiation, budget, etc.) required for an event
  • Personable and eager to meet hundreds of Dropboxers
  • Strong team player and execution-focused as an individual contributor
  • Solid research skills: up to date with new trends and ideas, and willingness and ability to pioneer new ones
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritization a must
  • Cool under chaos, highly adaptable, and able to make sound and time-sensitive decisions independently
  • Confidence that you can produce the best events, ever
