EMEA Legal Counsel - Product & Commercial

Join Dropbox as its first legal counsel based in Europe and play a central role in partnering with our growing teams in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. As our first legal counsel based outside of the US, you’ll have a broad range of responsibilities counseling the company on commercial, data protection, regulatory, product and other issues. You’ll develop and implement legal processes tailored for fast-moving EMEA operations. You’ll structure commercial partnerships, negotiate and draft a wide variety of agreements, and counsel on a variety of issues. Entrepreneurial by nature, you will have immediate impact with your analytic rigor, uncanny judgment, effective counseling, ability to get things done, and a “we not I” approach. Responsibilities

  • Take accountability for important issues and decisions and see them through.
  • Review, draft and negotiate all types of agreements - including inbound, outbound and partnership agreements.
  • Advise technical and business development teams from the initial stages of product development, through launch, to market strategy.
  • Design, build, and improve legal department processes to keep up with hyper growth.
  • Manage internal projects, trainings, processes, and drive cross-functional efforts to successful completion across all of our EMEA offices.

Requirements

  • Experience with and passion for commercial law, intellectual property, licensing, data protection, and information policy.
  • Skilled at negotiating, drafting and interpreting technology agreements.
  • Experience counseling and implementing go-to-market strategies.
  • Experience counseling product development and working with designers, engineers, and product management.
  • Excellent writing, communication, verbal and written, and organizational skills.
  • Eager to learn new technologies and ideas. Comfortable navigating complicated and nuanced issues.
  • Great interpersonal skills and ability to work well in fast paced team environment.
  • 6+ years legal experience in a relevant setting. In-house experience is strongly preferred but not required.
  • BA/BSc/LLB degree, qualified lawyer.
