Our Technical Operations team creates the layer from which all Dropbox experiences are built. As our user base and product family continues to grow, tech ops is responsible for strengthening our foundation.

Dropbox is looking for a hands-on professional to negotiate various types of agreements with a primary focus in software licensing. In addition, this person will investigate alternatives, review cost effectiveness, solicit bids, negotiate with suppliers and serve as a procurement advisor to the IT and Engineering Departments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage all contractual issues and programs including but not limited to hardware, consultants, development and software/data licenses, blanket and volume purchasing agreements
  • Strength in negotiations, cost/price analysis and procurement procedures
  • Understand software license scenario(s) and help to develop with the business optimal business terms based on the requirements (both provided and discovered through collaboration)
  • Manage the bid process including solicitation, analysis, negotiations and recommendations
  • Direct negotiating teams, coordinate end-user involvement and administer resulting contracts
  • Direct complex contract negotiation and RFP process, including requirements gathering
  • Involved in directing other functional areas in purchasing matters and is viewed as being a technical resource by the group
  • Partner with client groups, taking on whatever role is necessary to achieve business objectives
  • Exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criterion for obtaining results
  • Prepare purchase orders with all required information, including terms and conditions, and input into the purchasing computer system

Requirements

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Business Administration and/or Procurement/Contracts
  • Minimum of six years purchasing and contract administration
  • Excel, Word and PowerPoint experience required
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are required
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in purchasing field is essential
  • Requires the ability to direct, complex contract negotiations and RFP issues
  • Strength in negotiations, cost/price analysis and purchasing procedures is also essential
