The Product Manager for Security will work with all parts of Dropbox to help drive security engineering work affecting many aspects of our products and infrastructure. This internally-focused role will assist the Product Security and Abuse team establish their overall road map for engineering priorities, develop tactical project plans for engineering sprints, participate in design and architecture decisions, drive appropriate usability and interface design standards, coordinate activities with other engineering teams across the company, monitor and report on execution status, and manage the inevitable interruption in our priorities by emerging threats, security incidents and vulnerability reports.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for gathering feature requests, tracking open tasks, as well as gathering and analyzing insights from customer data to help inform strategic direction of the Product Security team.
  • Work closely with the Product Security and Abuse teams to help develop product feature initiatives, engineering goals and other technical plans to mitigate security and abuse threats to our users and products.
  • Collaborate with engineering to ship new, impactful security features, including preparing necessary technical specifications, coordinating development activity and tracking progress of in-flight projects.
  • Manage complex, cross-functional projects across multiple teams
  • Design experiments and analyze data to solve challenging problems and deliver insights
  • Focus on enabling our business in the most secure way by designing security features that "just work"
  • Perform quantitative analyses and build analytical frameworks to advise the Product Security and Abuse teams
  • Help build a world-class team to capitalize on the vast potential of Dropbox

Requirements

  • BA/BS or MS in computer science, statistics, or significant programming experience
  • Strong ability to analyze, interpret and present data
  • Deep understanding of and empathy for users
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • 2 years or more experience in Application Security, Cryptography, Authentication, Authorization, Abuse, and/or Fraud Prevention technologies is preferred
