Does Dropbox support connecting through a proxy server?

If you are on a corporate network, there's a good chance you connect to the Internet using a proxy server. Thankfully, Dropbox works just fine through HTTP(S) proxy servers.

Dropbox uses the proxy settings from your operating system's Internet configuration settings by default. You can change these settings as follows:

Using System Settings

  1. For Windows Vista or Windows 7, your Internet configuration settings can be found by going to your Control Panel from the Start menu. For Windows 8, these settings can be found by typing Control Panel at the Start screen and clicking on it.
  2. Select Network and Internet Connections and click on Internet Options. Alternatively, you can also access Internet Options from Internet Explorer's Tools menu. Press the alt key for the Internet Explorer 8+ menu.
