Two-step verification: An extra layer of security

One of Dropbox’s security features is two-step verification. This requires your users to sign in to Dropbox with their user name and password plus a six-digit code that gets texted to their phone. Each member will need to enable this on their own account. However, you can easily request members to enable the feature, and ensure that it stays on once enabled.

Set up two-step verification for your team

  1. Sign in to the Dropbox website and click on the Admin Console on the left-hand side.
  2. Click on the Authentication tab on the left-hand side.
  3. On the Authentication tab, scroll to the two-step verification section.
  4. Click on Send a reminder to send an email to users who still need to enable two-step verification.
  5. Check the box next to Require two-step verification to stay on. This ensures that once your users have enabled two-step verification, they can't turn it off.
